Hello Snappers!
Framing The Future began with a simple idea: every child deserves a chance to see the world- and themselves- through a creative lens. What started as an after school club started by a mom for her daughters to have fun and play with cameras quickly turned into something bigger. As more kids joined in and discovered the magic of photography, it became clear:
ART CAN CHANGE THE WAY CHILDREN SEE THEMSELVES.
It sparks confidence. It builds problem-solving skills. It gives kids a voice.
Today, Framing The Future is partnering with schools and communities across Charlotte to make photography accessible, joyful, and empowering.
My Personal Story
Hi There. My Name is Katie Venker, and am the founder and CEO of Framing The Future. Carolina Camera Club started with a simple goal: to share my love of photography with my own kids. We'd head outside with cameras, chasing light, laughter and butterflies! I quickly realized how much magic happens when kids get to see the world through a lens. Soon their friends wanted to join in on the fun. Then friends of friends. And just like that, this little photo project bloomed into something much bigger.

Our Mission
Framing The Future is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering kids through photography and the visual arts. We provide access to creative tools, education, and mentorship, particularly in underserved communities, so that every child can see the world differently, tell their story, and build a brighter future through the lens of self-expression.
We envision a world where all children, regardless of background or ability, have the opportunity to explore their creativity, gain confidence, and find their voice through the power of photography and the visual arts. By fostering imagination and storytelling, we're framing futures filled with possibility.

Our Values
Creativity Every child has an artistic spark worth nurturing
